How To Get Marker Out of Your Carpet

If you have small children then you probably understand how difficult it can be to keep things like your carpet clean.  You may find yourself continually trying to spot clean something or another in order to keep your home in order.  But, you might find yourself getting really angry and upset when you see marker on your floor.  This is enough to make any parent upset and it generally starts the mad cleaning rush to get it out.

Do not rush around searching for different products that may ruin your carpet.  Simply follow these simple steps to get the marker out.

1.)    Go to the bathroom and find the hairspray. It does not matter if it is in an aerosol can or if it is in a pump bottle. Either one will work.
2.)    Next, spray the hairspray on the floor. You do not need to spray it to the point that the carpet is soaked but you do want the area to be damp.
3.)    Use a clean cloth and begin rubbing the area until you start to see some of the marker coming out of it.  You may need to re-spray the area from time to time.
4.)    Continue repeating this process until you see the marks completely disappear.

Always remember to test an area of the carpet that will not be seen. This is the best thing to do in order to ensure that your carpet will not be ruined by the hairspray or your scrubbing.  It is always better to be safe than sorry.
